During the week

Holy Week, as the name indicates, is the holiest time of the year for Christians.  It is a time of penance and reflection as we commemorate Christ's final week in Jerusalem.  The schedule will be as follows

  • Monday: 
    • Daily Mass - 8:30 AM
    • Penance Service - St. Therese, Shavertown -7:00 PM
  • Tuesday:
    • Chrism Mass- St. Peter's Cathedral - 4:00 PM
  • Wednesday:
    • Daily Mass - 8:30 AM
    • Confessions - 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM

Holy THursday

Holy Thursday is one of the most powerful nights of the year.  We commemorate the institution of the Eucharist with the Mass of the Lord's Supper, act out Christ's servant-leadership with the washing of the feet, and pray with him at the Garden of Gesthemane as we process together with the Eucharist to the Altar of Repose.  The schedule will be as follows:

  • Mass of the Lord's Supper - 7:00 PM
  • Prayer at the Altar of Repose until 10:00 PM

Good Friday

On Good Friday we recall Christ's Passion and Death.  It is a day of fasting and abstinence.

  • Commemoration of the Lord's Passion with Reception of Communion - 7:00 PM

Holy Saturday

Holy Saturday is a day of silence and prayer as we ready ourselves for the glorious celebration of the Easter Vigil.  The schedule will be as follows:

  • Blessing of Baskets - 10:00 AM
  • Easter Egg Hunt - 11:00 AM
  • Easter Vigil - 8:00 PM

Easter Sunday

During Easter Christians everywhere rejoice at the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

  • Mass of Resurrection - 8:30 AM
  • Mass of Resurrection - 11:00 AM
